Toolkit
To further strengthen this survivor-led movement, the EFJCA is developing a toolkit to support Family Justice Centers in setting up and organizing their own VOICES committees. This toolkit provides practical guidance, examples, and inspiration to create a safe and structured environment in which survivors can share their stories and actively contribute to the work of FJCs.
Why is this important?
- Because survivor voices ensure that services truly meet the needs of those they are designed for.
- Because sharing lived experience helps break the taboo around domestic and sexual violence and empowers others to seek help.
- Because VOICES members provide unique insights that professionals cannot gain from theory or practice alone.
- Because involving survivors fosters collaboration, innovation, and stronger community engagement.
Through this toolkit, the EFJCA encourages every Family Justice Center in Europe to give survivors a platform – ensuring that their voices remain at the heart of the movement to prevent violence and support healing.
