Family Justice Center Bonaire training

At the end of June, the EFJCA visited Aruba for a number of training sessions. Tanya Hoogwerf of FJC Filomena, Rotterdam, joined the EFJCA as trainer and advisor.

The series of sessions took place on Bonaire in collaboration with the EFJCA, involving team members from Guiami and the women’s shelter Tabitha, to build the work of FJC Bonaire:

  • Tour of the future Family Justice Center building and consultation on its layout, with the project manager from Fudashon Cas Boneiriano, and the advisor to the Deputy of Society & Care.
  • Site visit to the women’s shelter with advice on the safety of the building and surroundings.
  • Training session on help-seeking behavior, provided by Pascale Franck and Tanja Hoogwerf, for staff of Guiami and the women’s shelter.
  • Case consultation focused on stalking and training on stalking
  • Training on trauma and trauma-informed care for Guiami and women’s shelter staff
  • Evaluation and preparatory session for strengthening the interagency cooperation around the development of the Family Justice Center, and working on the grant provided by the EFJCA to Bonaire (thanks to funding by the EU).
