Bio Maria Popova

Maria Popova is a Policy Assistant in the Gender Equality unit of DG JUST. As part of the Violence Against Women team, She works predominantly on the implementation of the Violence Against Women Directive and the Istanbul Convention. 

Presentation Gender-based violence: EU policy context

As the title suggests, this presentation is about EU-actions related to GBV in the Gender Equality Strategy and how those support civil society through the CERV programme. Maria is going to give an overview of the European Commission's priorities in this area and how EU policy and CERV funding support coordinated responses and prevention.
